AMSEA is offering an 18-Hour Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor workshop in Astoria, Oregon. Instructor Dan Cary will cover these topics:

  • EPIRBs, Flares, and MAYDAYs

  • Man Overboard Recovery

  • Firefighting

  • Immersion Suits and PFDs

  • Emergency Drills

  • Helicopter Rescue

  • Life Rafts

  • Abandon Ship Procedures

  • In-the Water Practice Session

 

This course meets the US Coast Guard training requirements for drill conductors on documented commercial fishing vessels operating beyond the federal boundary line. The workshop is offered at no cost to commercial fishermen thanks to support from the U.S. Coast Guard and NIOSH.
