AMSEA is conducting an 10-Hour Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor workshop in Buxton, North Carolina. Instructor John O'Leary will cover these topics:

 

  • Cold-Water Survival Skills

  • EPIRBs, Flares, and MAYDAYs

  • Man Overboard Recovery

  • Firefighting

  • Immersion Suits and PFDs

  • Emergency Drills

  • Helicopter Rescue

  • Life Rafts

  • Abandon Ship Procedures

  • In-the Water Practice Session

 

This training meets the US Coast Guard training requirements for drill conductors on documented commercial fishing vessels operating beyond the federal boundary line. The course is offered at no cost to commercial fishermen thanks to support from the U.S. Coast Guard and NIOSH.
