AMSEA is offering a Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor workshop in Charleston, Oregon. Marine safety training course will cover these topics:

 

  • Cold-Water Survival Skills

  • EPIRBs, Signal Flares, and MAYDAY Calls

  • Man Overboard Recovery

  • Firefighting

  • Damage Control & Flooding

  • Dewatering Pumps

  • Immersion Suits and PFDs

  • Emergency Drills

  • Helicopter Rescue

  • Life Rafts

  • Abandon Ship Procedures

  • In-the Water Practice Session

 

This course meets the U.S. Coast Guard training requirements for drill conductors on commercial fishing vessels, 46 CFR 28.270(c). The workshop is offered at no cost to commercial fishermen thanks to support from the U.S. Coast Guard, NIOSH, the Pacific Northwest Dungeness Crab Marketing Association, and AMSEA members.
