AMSEA is conducting a free Recreational Boating & Cold Water Safety workshop in Utqiagvik, Alaska. This workshop is an excellent opportunity for new and experienced boaters to gain general knowledge and important insights into boating in Arctic waters. Instructor Rob Hulse will cover the following topics:

  • Navigation

  • Communications

  • Emergency Signals

  • PFD's & Safety Equipment

  • Anchoring

  • Engines

  • Float Plans

  • Pre-Departure Checklist

  • Man Overboard

  • Hypothermia and Cold-Water Safety

  • In-The-Water (Pool) Skills Practice Session
