AMSEA and Washington Sea Grant are conducting a Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor workshop in Westport, Washington. This marine safety training course will cover these topics:

 

  • Cold-Water Survival Skills

  • EPIRBs, Signal Flares, and MAYDAY Calls

  • Man Overboard Recovery

  • Firefighting

  • Damage Control and Flooding

  • De-watering Pumps

  • Immersion Suits and PFDs

  • Emergency Drills

  • Helicopter Rescue

  • Life Rafts

  • Abandon Ship Procedures

  • In-the-Water Skills Practice

 

This course meets the US Coast Guard training requirements for drill conductors on documented commercial fishing vessels operating beyond the federal boundary line. This class is offered at a reduced cost to commercial fishermen thanks to support from the U.S. Coast Guard, NIOSH, Washington Sea Grant, and AMSEA members.
