Sitka Marine Safety Instructor Training

Jeff Pearson

This week AMSEA staff are busy with a Marine Safety Instructor Training (MSIT) in Sitka. The Sitka MSIT is an annual event and this year we have large class with students from as far away as Puerto Rico and American Samoa. Instructors, Rick Petersen, Neil Nickerson, Mike Morris, and Coral Pendell have been teaching students not only marine safety & survival skills, but how to safely teach those skills to others. Check out the photo gallery to get a look at some of this year's training activities.

The AMSEA office resides on the unceded territory of the Sheet’ká Ḵwáan on Lingít Aaní. We acknowledge that Lingít Peoples have been stewards of the land and seas, on which we work, reside, and play since time immemorial. We are grateful for that stewardship and incredible care.
