AMSEA Classes

AMSEA offers a number of Marine Safety classes. F/V Drill Conductor, Mariner's First Aid, Stability, Navigation, and Recreational are just a few of the classes that we offer.  Read more...

F/V Drill Conductor training meets the USCG requirements for  drill conductors on commercial fishing vessels, 46 CFR 28.270(c). As such, AMSEA are required to provide approved curriculum. Required material and forms can be found here.

Mariner's First Aid provides students with a two-year USCG accepted HSI certification in CPR, as well as treatments for common fisheries related ailments. Instructor resources, reporting forms, schedules and more can be found here.

AMSEA offers a number of recreational boating safety classes. These may include, Safe  Boat Handling, Boating Without the Boys, Shore Survival, Trailering and more. Resources, schedules, and forms can be found here.

AMSEA's Marine Safety Instructor resource page is only available to those who have been granted access.

AMSEA's stability course offers a look into weight distribution, vessel engineering. 

Vessel Navigation is still under development, but looks at dead reconning, reading charts, using a bearing compass, to name a few.

AMSEA's youth curriculum is extensive. With shelter building, shore survival, and marine safety skills being taught in school, the hope is to raise safety aware adults. To create a youth class, contact our Course Coordinator at coursecoord@amsea.org
