AMSEA is conducting a First Aid & CPR/AED workshop in Sitka, Alaska. The class will cover the following topics:

CPR & Automatic External Defibrillators (AED)

Treatment of Choking

Medical Emergencies

Trauma

Environmental Hazards

Patient Assessment

Medical Communications

Drowning & Hypothermia

Common Fishing Injuries

Ergonomic Injury Prevention

This course includes HSI's Adult First Aid and CPR/AED course which is approved by the USCG/NMC for a Merchant Mariner. Students who complete this course will receive a certificate for HSINST-203. The CPR/AED portion of this course follows AHA guidelines. Additional curriculum will follow after HSI's Adult First Aid and CPR/AED course (i.e., injury prevention and tailored curriculum for fishermen).
