The Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District and the Alaska Oil and Gas Association recognised AMSEA with an award for Outstanding Support in Commercial Fishing at their annual Industry Appreciation Day, on August 24. Fifteen individuals and businesses in four industries, oil and gas, commercial fish, tourism and health care, were recognised for their contributions to the community. AMSEA's nomination for the award was recommended by the United Cook Inlet Drift Association. Since AMSEA's founding in 1985, AMSEA instructors have taught nearly 500 marine safety classes to commercial fishermen, commercial mariners, recreational boaters, and school children in Kenai Peninsula Borough communities. We greatly appreciate the recognition from the Kenai Peninsula Economic Development District and the Alaska Oil and Gas Association for this work.
