The MSIT is an intensive train-the-trainer course that prepares you to effectively teach cold-water survival procedures, use of marine safety equipment, and vessel safety drills. Topics covered during the course will include:

Upon completion of the course, you will be prepared to teach AMSEA’s U.S. Coast Guard approved Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor training, pending authorization from the Coast Guard. The day after the course ends, you can even help teach your first class, a Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor workshop in Seward on April 18.

The MSIT is free for qualifying commercial fishermen and $995 for the rest of us. As an AMSEA instructor, you can organize your own marine safety classes and charge your own rate or contract with AMSEA to teach classes in your community. So what are you waiting for?
